Creative Technologist (A/V & IT) - FULL-TIME (closed)
Out client, an agency specializing in creating interactive events and displays, is seeking a Creative Technologist in their Manhattan office.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate client briefs and work with the Design team on pitches and proposals that meet consumer and client expectations
- Develop an execution plan to deliver the expected technology results within given constraints of time, resources and budget
- Document proposed plans
- Perform R&D tasks keeping up-to-date on bleeding edge technologies in the A/V, Broadcast and IT industries
- Create equipment lists for purchase
- Document technical systems, schematics and architectural integrations via CAD and/or Visio
- Create estimates to be used by sales force
- Adhere designs to local building and electrical codes
- Assist design staff on keeping designs realistic and supportable in excess of 500 deployments
Requirements:
- B.A. In TV / Radio (or) B.S. In Computer Science
- CTS or SMPTE affiliations preferred
- 3 years of experience in the A/V or IT industries preferred
- Audio and Video systems as well as IT systems including TCP/IP networking
- A/V and IT routing or switching
- DSP and digital video distribution
- Visio, AutoCAD or any other computerized drafting application
- General knowledge of digital video assets and codecs
- Ability to install and troubleshoot internet connectivity in a corporate facility
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with clients and sales associates making complex technology accessible
- Knowledge and experience in computer hardware, software and peripherals including Windows, MAC, Linux, PCIe graphics, post production editing, video encoding and basic video editing workflow
- Broad knowledge of speaker, monitor and computerized hardware installation in ceiling, wall and floor mounted situations
- RS232 control, TCP/IP configuration, IR control, VNC or RDP remote control required
- General familiarity with design, build and architecture
- Familiar with ROM, BOM, RFP, Proposal and RFI paperwork
