Job Description

Provide general oversight, management and direction of the Medical Office Administration program in addition to teaching, tutoring and lecturing adult learners in a Private Career College setting.

Primary Responsibilities
Plan, prepare and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture and/or laboratory format
Manage classroom teaching conditions and environment through active instructor presence in order to promote positive classroom discipline and control, timely classroom meetings and appropriate use of equipment
Provide students academic support and advice
Curriculum review
Timely completion of all College records
Participate in faculty/staff meetings
Assist in interviewing and orienting new faculty and serve as a mentor in the implementation of effective teaching skills
Perform quarterly faculty observations in assigned discipline
Maintain relationships with professional associations, regulatory bodies, provincial and federal Ministries and advisory boards
Monitor industry trends regionally, provide research and trend analysis when required and liaise with Curriculum and Career Services departments
Prepare campuses for accreditation and site visits
Contribute to the implementation of activities, meetings and programs that will ensure Program Advisory Committees function in a manner consistent with accreditation standards

Compensation

Education
University degree with a minimum of two (2) years experience in a teaching capacity within area of expertise or equivalent combination of post secondary education and a minimum of two (2) years of professional business experience within area of expertise
Education and experience must meet the requirements of the Private Career Colleges Act

Skills and Competencies
Knowledge of adult learning principles is essential
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Able to develop and maintain solid partnerships with associations and regulatory bodies
Excellent problem solving skills
Proficient computer skills with the Microsoft Office software package

Work Experience
2+ years of practical work experience
