A challenging opportunity now exists with a major shipyard operator.  They are currently seeking to hire an experienced Manager (Quality/ Environment).  This role is based in Dubai, UAE. 

The successful candidate will maintain the Company Quality and Environment System in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and will also provide training or training advise on quality related issues.

In order to be considered, you must have formal Quality Control qualifications.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overall management of the QC & Environment department.
• Develop and implement company QC and Environment department manuals.
• Establish and maintain quality standards and improve the quality process throughout the organization.
• Setting QA compliance objectives and ensuring that the targets are achieved.
• Establish and maintain a library of company ‘standards’.
• Ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation.
• Ensure constant awareness of quality standards in QC and Environment personnel and identify training needs.
• Liaise with customers on project specific QC and Environment requirements.
• Implement and monitor OH&S, Environment and Quality Management System.

Requirements:

• Formal Quality Control qualification.
• 10 years previous experience in QC (at least 5 in a managerial/senior supervisory position)
• Prior experience in a large ship repair/new building or steel fabrication yard.
• Good knowledge of steel, pipe welding procedures and protection systems / coatings.
• Very good standard of written and oral English language
• Management and organizational skills.
• Acquired skills in physical testing methods and Technical writing ability.
