The Oracle APEX Developer must have expert knowledge of PL/SQL, must have expert knowledge of PL/SQL, Oracle development tools with APEX, along with substantial experience participating in the development of large cross-platform applications, to focus on the job of generating the code to the specified timelines and quickly correcting PL/SQL errors. The upfront workload and timeline for this project is intense due to the need to complete the work within the 2012 timeframe. The overall design has been completed and the software components and interfaces have been defined and mostly coded. This person will be expected to participate in a full functional project team to meet the tight deadlines with the use of Unit Testing and code reviews to ensure that the interfaces are held to specifications. The position will have the following responsibilities:

• Prioritize, coordinate and facilitate the development of scheduled software components
• Develop and consistently run Unit Testing on changed software components
• Management of Code Reviews
• Correction of defects as they are found
• Regular status reporting
• Correction of Specification as documentation defects are found

Position is located in Salem, OR. Local applicants preferred.  Six month contract.

Required Skills:

• Eight or more years development experience
• Three or more years experience with programming web based applications
• Experience working from specifications and holding to a solid change process
• Experience in coding unit testing for software components
• Experience in code review processes and enforcement
• Understanding how to translate business rules to well defined and documented development artifacts
• IT experience working in large complex private or public sector organizations

Preferred Skills:

• Cross platform integration tools for the IBM Mainframe platform include MQSeries, WebCICS and Micro Focus
• Experience correcting defects in SQL Programs discovered by Testing
• Experience with coding to specifications
• Experience with government agency programs
• Experience with systems engineering activities
• Experience working with IT technical team members and understands IT terminology
• Good communication skills and a customer service focus
• Adheres to government agency standards and templates
• Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with peers, and project management to meet specifications
• Critical thinking skills, ability to accurately analyze information to guide the development team to a decision
• Initiative and accountability for achieving results
