Job Description:
Technical/Functional Skills :
• SQL Server 2000/2005/2008
• Large enterprise wide SQL Server upgrades
• SQL Server High Availability and DR solutions
• SQL Server High Availability and DR solutions
Experience Required
• 10 to 12 years of hands on SQL Server Database Administration experience.
• Experience with leading a team of DBA's in a global delivery model.
• Experience with several large scale enterprise wide database upgrades/migrations from SQL 2000/2005 to 2008 R2.
• Experience with migrating DTS packages to SSIS using Migration wizard and other third party tools like DTS xChange.
• Experience with remediating issues and migrating SQL Server features like Reporting/Analytical services to SQL 2008 R2.
• Deep knowledge of SQL Server internals and experience with advanced SQL Server features.
• Adept at troubleshooting database performance issues and resolving them.
• Ability to suggest/architect high availability and disaster recovery solutions and hands-on-experience in implementing them.
• Experience with setting up database backups including using third party tools like SQL LiteSpeed.
• Working knowledge of 3rd party scheduling tools like TSM and Control M.
• Good knowledge of virtualization and clustering solutions in a VMware environment.
• Understand high availability and fault tolerance solutions in the virtualized environments
• Knowledge of T-SQL and the ability to work on Stored Procedures, Triggers, Functions, etc.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work in an onsite/offshore team.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills is required.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and work with onshore and offshore teams.
• Ability to coach and mentor junior staff.
• MCSE or MCSM Certification preferred.
