The Operating Room Staff Registered Nurse (RN) renders individualized comprehensive intra-operative nursing care to meet the patient's physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural and educational needs from newborn to elderly. The Operating Room Staff Registered Nurse (RN) provides the best possible preventative and supportive intra-operative nursing care to each patient based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure. The Operating Room Staff Registered Nurse (RN) will function as a circulating nurse primarily and as a scrub nurse as necessary.
* DaVinci equipment ! ours is the only robotics program in Alaska to offer the latest Si technology combined with an 8.5 millimeter endoscope, offering a more minimally invasive surgical approach to a broader base of patients.**We have 11 OR suites; cases can range in number from 25 to 40 cases; the OR could use heart and neuro/spine experienced rns. Scrub rns would definitely be a bonus.
Requirements:
-Current State of Alaska licensure as an RN required.
-Minimum one year experience in an intra-operative setting preferred.
-One year experience as an Operating Room Circulator, or in any other speciality.
-Current certification as a BLS and ACLS Healthcare Provider with the American Heart Association required.
-CNOR certification preferred.
-Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required.
-Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
-Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
-Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment and be able to exert up to 100 lbs. force occasionally, and/or 50 lbs. frequently, and/or 20 lbs. constantly.
