Job Description

We are in need of a WebSphere/Middleware Administrator for both a contract (3-4 months) and a full-time (direct hire) position.

In this role you will be the primary Administrator and Support for Middleware technologies including Websphere ND Application Server, MQ Series, and Pega PRPC application software. Responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of complex, mission-critical middleware installations. Coordinate and direct research efforts to discover modifications and enhancements to existing configurations and procedures. Manage Middleware release and patch levels, technology versioning and product roadmaps. Conduct evaluations of overall system performance to develop and implement recommendations to address and resolve issues. Responsible for the configuration, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of high-availability middleware and web services that make up the strategic Application Infrastructure/enabling Technologies (WebSphere, MQ, IIS, Apache, Pega PRPC).-Work with application development groups to tune and troubleshoot their applications within a fault-tolerant WebSphere/WAS environment. Advises on and resolves issues that may occur within middleware services and inter-operability with RDBMS and other integrated back-end systems. Develop processes needed to model, integrate, automate and manage reliable, highly-available, and flexible business middleware installations, Create and update system documentation. Acts as a liaison with application teams and infrastructure teams to define requirements and/or determination of problems. Evaluate overall system performance to develop and implement recommendations to address and resolve issues. Manage system integrity and availability. Interfaces with division personnel, applications/systems analysts, manufacturers representatives and departmental personnel to implement new projects and provide assistance in resolution of technical issues. Design and implement monitoring and alerting technologies and processes. Provide off-hours support and on-call rotation.

Job Requirements:

5+ years of systems administration experience including WebSphere ND Application Server and also WebSphere MQ.
Experience in the configuration, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of high-availability middleware and web services.
Experence with Apache and IIS is needed.
Pega PRPC administration is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Solid verbal communication skills.
