Job Description

Responsible for working with hospital clients and team members to develop and support Cerner Standard mPages and Custom mPages

 Regular business hours work schedule with occasional on-call duties. Yes, work schedule is flexible. On-site presence is not required. Working from home is allowed.

 

  • Knowledge of Cerner’s CCL programming language, Millennium tools, Data Model, and Architecture
  • 2-3 years of Web Programming experience using HTML, JavaScript, CSS required
  • JQuery and JSON experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of Cerner programming (CCL) experience preferred or equivalent experience with SQL programming
  • Experience in systems analysis/programming, customer service, vendor information and information systems
  • Strong analytical ability to solve complex technical problems
  • Competent in micro computing including desktop applications, project management, and communication and emulation applications
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with internal/external customers
  • Understanding of information systems methodologies and their impact on complex application development
  • Developing detailed report specification
  • Develop reports using SQL mPages maintenance and build experience
  • Unit testing and QA of developed reports
  • Troubleshoot and update existing CCL reports
  • Responsible for ongoing enhancements to the current functionality; troubleshooting; training of new end-users.
  • Work with business users to identify requirements for maintaining application tables, dictionaries, and parameters required for system operation and configuration
  • Understand current design and implications to process and workflow
  • Serve as primary contact for application design regarding new requirements
  • Coordinate with the appropriate members of the support team in policy and procedure formation.
  • Provide support for testing and conversion activities
  • Provide after-hours “on-call” support to troubleshoot and resolve system problems escalated by the service management team
  • Installing patches/fixes provided by the vendor in accordance with change control processes

 

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of overall industry experience 
  • Strong experience with Cerner CCL (Discern Explorer) or SQL queries
  • mPages knowledge IT, clinical, provider technical Implementation/Support experience
  •  Effective communication 
  • Presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Proven abilities in complex report writing environments and process analysis
  • Ability to interact with customers

Desired Skills:

  • 5+ years programming experience
  • Cerner database structure 
  • Basic Cerner application knowledge
  • Strong experience with Cerner Rules (Discern Expert)
  • Strong technical skills ·
  •  3 + years experience in project implementation and/or support 
  • 3 + years of IT Healthcare Experience

Minimum Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or work experience equivalent
