Software Methods is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a 6+ month contract opportunity at our client in King of Prussia, PA.

Job Responsibilities:

?      Provide oversight and coordination for the evaluation and implementation of all existing and new security patches for Java.

?      Perform initial review of Java security patches to determine potential impact of implementation to PJM installed business applications

?      Work closely with IT and non-IT subject matter experts to identify potential impact of new Java security patches through code reviews and testing. 

?      Work closely with subject matter experts to assist in the identification of required code changes to PJM business applications.

?      Assist with pre-deployment testing, integration testing and post implementation support. 

?      Develop repeatable processes for support of Java security patches going forward. 

Required Skills:

?      7+ years? experience in the field of Information Technology

?      Extensive development, administrative and architectural knowledge of various Java technologies and Middleware Application Servers such as IBM/Oracle Java Runtime, JRockit, JBoss, Apache Tomcat and Weblogic.

?      Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization

?      Ability to work individually and within a matrixed SCRUM team environment

?      Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

?      Goal oriented with the ability to move through obstacles to deliver results

?      Demonstrated data analysis skills

?      Experience with change management methodology

?      Familiarity with the processes associated with implementing security patches for third party software at an enterprise level

?      Experience with configuration management practices of information technology

?      Proficiency with Microsoft Office Technologies

Preferred Skills:

?      Hands-on administration experience with   AIX, Linux, or Windows operating systems

?      Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007

?      Experience with BMC Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping (ADDM) technology

?      Familiarity with Agile methodology, specifically Scrum
