Job Description 

RTI's Public Health Economics Program is seeking a senior level researcher with demonstrated experience or interest in health economics and or quantitative program evaluation of public health economic outcomes. The program conducts contract and grant funded work in obesity, viral hepatitis, vaccination policy, adult visual disorders and other chronic and infectious diseases. The job requires an understanding of principles of cost-effectiveness, research design and hypothesis testing, and advanced econometrics. Familiarity and experience with simulation models, and involvement and participation on successful projects (as a graduate student or after) that have led to publication are also highly desirable.  This position can be located in RTP, NC or Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities:

• Lead ongoing and new projects

• Lead research staff on projects

• Contribute to grant and contract proposals to government agencies and other funding sources.

 

Qualifications 

• PhD or PhD candidate in Economics or related field with 1 year experience in health  

   economics

• Requires an understanding of principles of cost-effectiveness, research design and

   hypothesis testing, and advanced econometrics

• Interest in developing a research agenda

• Interest in obtaining funding

• Interest in contributing to the profession through publications and presentations
