Overview/Summary

 

WorleyParsons is currently looking to hire an experienced Commissioning Manager for our Completions Management Department.  This position will be housed out of our Woodbranch Location.  The successful candidate will be responsible for Management and oversight of the the day-to-day commissioning activities for the project. 

 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Responsible for implementation of the scope of work as related to offshore pre-commissioning and commissioning of the systems in conformance with project specifications, Safe Work Plans, and in accordance with the approved Project Schedule. 
  • Develop, Execute and Manage work for all Commissioning Work Packages. 
  • Provide input and support for all work packages and asset support works during Define and Execute phases of the program works. 
  • Estimate Commissioning manpower and duration input to Cost and Schedule requests during all phases of the Program works. 
  • Develop Detailed De-Commissioning / Commissioning Methodology input. 
  • Build and maintain relationships, teamwork and communications within BP contractors, BP Construction and Operations groups. 
  • Continued development of all Program Commissioning procedures to cover all applicable projects. 
  • Identify and track critical commissioning information needs. 
  • Work with planning to ensure all schedules are realistic and construction driven. 
  • Once complete, work with BP activity planning to get a detailed execution. 
  • Engage with and obtain approval and feedback from the BP Operations Team during offshore schedule and offshore Commissioning Work pack reviews to ensure alignment. 
  • Along with the WorleyParsons Procurement services group ensure that commissioning spares and operating spares are accounted for and onsite are available and marshalled at the BP onshore support bases for all commissioning activities. 
  • Work with WorleyParsons and BP Completions Groups to provide “flawless” start-up of projects. 
  • Measure, evaluate and provide value improvement feedback, engage and agree with BP on the improvement of program work practices. 
  • Act as a role model to promote a robust Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) culture in the project community. 
  • Ensure compliance with the safety assurance plan so that work is accomplished in an environmentally sound manner using safe work practices. 
  • Conduct advanced safety audits and other safety observations to help achieve a zero incident culture. 
  • Encourage construction and operations personnel to review commissioning packages early in the course of projects to eliminate rework and optimize execution. 
  • Anticipate and resolve problems encountered in the field to eliminate costly re-testing. 
  • Monitor progress to ensure scheduling milestones are understood and are being met. 
  • Participate in a post project appraisal review and report (lesson learned). 
  • Coordinate project turnover activities with the Commissioning Engineer and QA/Quality Control and FCO Groups. 
  • Coordinate the vendor representative(s) schedules. 
  • Provide discipline engineering expertise during completions,  pre-commissioning and commissioning work undertaken by the various Execution Contractors. 
  • Participate in technical reviews for engineering works.
  • Provide technical support to the project on commissioning, operating procedures and troubleshooting. 
  • Ensure the commissioning and final acceptance of critical path equipment is conducted to company’s requirements in accordance with applicable industry standards, API, ABS, and DNV.

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • BA/BS in related field or applicable discipline preferred, or equivalent years experience.
  • Masters degree or professional certifications preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted procedures.
  • Generally 20+ years of relevant experience. 
  • Possesses and is recognized as a functional expert and thought leader within the department and broader organization.
  • Anticipates complex internal and external business issues with impact on the organization and can recommend innovative program and/or program solutions.
  • Contributes to strategic program development. 
  • Advanced proficiency with applicable software applications in related field. Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail critical. Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities is critical.
  • The ability to effectively communicate in English and take a leadership role in preparing and presenting complex program proposals and reports to senior level management is critical.
  • Strong ability to persuade and influence others is critical. 
  • Commitment to customer service and ability to guide department personnel in partnership with and during manager's absence is essential. Ability to maintain confidential information is critical. 
  • Generally characterized as a "Leader" or "Principal" with the ability to conceptually interpret and guide the department program design and development.
  • Ability to lead complex and often cross-functional project teams. 
  • Typically will regularly interface with departmental staff and upper management, and frequently with outside customers.
