Job Description

The engineering position is for an Infrastructure Specialist (Web Sphere MQ, Connect Direct NDM, and Web Servers) responsible for supporting the client's architecture and technologies.  Extensive knowledge of website architecture, web server configuration, security, and best practices is required for this position.  Extensive knowledge of Web Sphere MQ messaging architecture, engineering, administration, security, and clustering is required. 

Provide technical guidance and consultation of web systems environments.  Lead projects associated with web and messaging application installations, upgrades, tuning efforts, and deployments including designing and testing multiple tier servers to meet growth and user requirements.  Partner with development, architecture, and operations teams and recommends web configurations.  Continuously partner with architecture teams to evaluate new and existing vendor products and features.  Develops new documentation and participates in the creation and maintenance of departmental technical procedures.

Position Requirements

Web Sphere MQ

  • Extensive experience with Web Sphere MQ design, installations, configurations, tuning, clustering/HA and operations. 
  • Supports the installation, configuration, security of the Web Sphere MQ 7.x or later products
  • Create detailed and well written install guides; install guide templates and/or standards documents
  • Consults with architecture and development to ensure optimal design and configurations.
  • In-depth experience with Veritas Cluster and/or Linux HA solutions in a MQ environment is a must.
  • Open support tickets or tech support calls with vendors
  • Track and update, system updates and maintenance changes
  • Must have direct work experience in Web Sphere MQ installation, administration, security, and support

 

NDM Connect Direct

  • In depth experience with Sterling Commerce Direct Connect 3.8.
  • The applicant needs to demonstrate the ability to explain how the direct Connect software works and how to configure the application. 
  • Installation of NDM Connect Direct, including binary installations, managing configurations, SSL maintenance, and troubleshooting. 
  • Open support tickets or tech support calls with vendors
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues, research failures in logs, and provide remediation.

 

Web Servers

  • Extensive experience with Apache, Sun One, and proxy server design, installations, configurations, tuning, and operations. 
  • Supports the installation, configuration, security of the web servers and associated / related software.
  • Create detailed and well written install guides; install guide templates and/or standards documents
  • Consults with web developers and management and recommends web configurations
  • Open support tickets or tech support calls with vendors
  • Track and update, system updates and maintenance changes
  • Must have direct work experience in Sun One, Apache, and understanding of proxy servers.

-Knowledge of SharePoint for updating departmental documentation.

-Basic Linux and UNIX administration skills

-Knowledge of Website architecture and technologies

-Must be able to script in Perl and/or shell

-Basic user level experience with using Clear case or source code management software such as N1.
