Geotechnical Engineers - Earthquake engineering experience required
A leading engineering consultancy is currently recruiting for range of senior geotechnical engineers to join their offices in most major cities throughout New Zealand. The company is in growth mode and is preparing for a busy and challenging 2012. As a senior member of the team you will be able to mentor junior staff and add value to the organisation as a whole.
*Undertake geotechnical analysis and design for various projects as required.
*Ensure that filing and calculations are in accordance with the project requirements i.e. calculation packages to include Design Statement, table of contents etc.
*Responsible for the accuracy and correctness of calculations prepared for design.
*Assist with preparation of tender, concept and detailed design reports for major projects.
*Includes preparation of cut/fill schedules, schedule of unsuitable materials, slope stability analysis, formulating geotechnical models and summarising subsurface conditions.
Requirements for the role:
*A relevant tertiary qualification and at least 5 years experience
*Understanding of geotechnical design principles
*Sound communication skills including report writing
*Enthusiasm to work across a variety of projects
*Ability to learn a variety of Geotech computer programs
*Familiar with relevant NZ Standards and RMA Specifications
If you are wanting an opportunity to assist with the rebuild of Christchurch most roles will have work packages that will link in with earthquake damage related projects - you don’t have to be based in Christchurch to be able to assist.
