The Manager of Central Service is responsible for overseeing the functions and processes of the department. The Manager will be responsible for the decontamination and sterilization processes and case cart building and monitoring. This role will act as the OR liaison and oversee the quota replenishment & medical equipment pick-up and cleaning. The Manager will plan, facilitate and develop the coordination of the Central Service operations. The Manager will work in accordance with the federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, AAMI, FDA, JCAHO). This position will be responsible for but not limited to the following: * Develops department policy/procedure/protocols and standards of practice * Works with CS coordinators to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives * Oversees the surgical case cart system, and the Abacus instrument tracking system * Allocate and maintain adequate staffing for productivity * Prepare orientation and training guidelines for new staff; and monitors staff development. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in nursing, surgical technology, business management or healthcare management with a minimum of three years in the operating room, central service or sterile processing. Two years of leadership or supervisory preferred.
