Our client requires a SQL/MySQL ServerDatabase Administrator to perform database management activities using established CIC Database Management processes and respecting CIC Database Management Standards.
Start Date: Immediately
Rate: $450 to $500 per day
Type of work: contract
Length of contract: 220 work days
4.0 REQUIREMENT:
4.1 The Contractor must provide the services of a SQL/MySQL Server Database Administer who must:
a) install/implement/patch SQL Server database servers;
b) install/implement/patch MySQL database servers;
c) administer, manage and maintain SQL Server databases servers;
d) administer, manage and maintain MySQL databases servers;
e) create/maintain/test SQL Server scripting as required by CIC;
f) create/maintain/test MySQL scripting as required by CIC;
g) implement, monitor and test SQL Server database backup and recovery procedures;
h) implement, monitor and test MySQL database backup and recovery procedures;
i) perform daily monitoring of the SQL Server database performance to identify and implement optimization improvements;
j) perform daily monitoring of the MySQL database performance to identify and implement optimization improvements;
k) develop database policy, procedures and standards in a SQL Server environment;
l) develop database policy, procedures and standards in a MySQL environment;
m) provide design, development and maintenance support to the application SQL Server database components;
n) provide design, development and maintenance support to the application MySQL database components;
- o) evaluate the integrity of the design and development of the SQL Server database server architecture;
p) evaluate the integrity of the design and development of the MySQL database server architecture;
q) accommodate information transfer between the Biometrics team and the DBA team by attending technical level meetings as liaison and subject matter expert (SME);
r) Provide knowledge transfer and training as required and determined by CIC, details in deliverables; and
be fluent in the English language; the Contractor’s personnel must be able to communicate orally and in writing, in English, without any assistance and with minimal errors
Mandatory requirement:

M1: Must have at least five (5) years within the last five (10) years demonstrated experience as a database administrator providing day-to-day database support of a production database including, at a minimum, the installation, configuration and patching of production database servers and the implementation, monitoring and testing of the production database backup and recovery procedures. |

M2: Must have at least three (3) years within the last five (5) years demonstrated experience as a SQL Server database administrator providing day-to-day SQL Server database support of a production database including, at a minimum, the installation, configuration and patching of production SQL Server database servers and the implementation, monitoring and testing of the production database backup and recovery procedures. |

M3: Must have at least two (1) year within the last five (5) years demonstrated experience as a MySQL database administrator providing day-to-day MySQL database support of a production database including, at a minimum, the installation, configuration and patching of production MySQL database servers and the implementation, monitoring and testing of the production database backup and recovery procedures. |
