NameMedia is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, ever improving Test Engineer to assist in delivering high-quality, high-visibility, high-traffic customer facing web sites and company-internal 24 x 7 web applications. The successful candidate will have a passion for designing, building and executing automated and manual tests against Java and Web applications. The individual will work with the team to identify and implement best practices to ensure the software performs as expected and will be an integral part of all team deliverables. Responsibilities:

    Design and create test conditions and scripts to address business and technical use cases.
    Interact with product management and development teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives.
    Use existing tools and techniques to execute test cases and build/script new tools for performing testing/validation function.
    Develop and lead the automation strategy/effort and generate scripts to perform automated testing cycles.
    Execute and analyze automation test results.
    Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution.
    Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate.
    Support production deployment of applications.
    Participate in demonstrations internally within engineering and externally to the organization.

Requirements:

    3+ years experience in testing web applications required
    Must be well versed in testing methodology and quality metrics.
    Experience in automated testing of dynamic web sites and applications based on Java/ Linux/MySql technologies.
    Relevant work experience in development and/or testing role.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Good development/scripting skills in common languages like Java, PHP, Javascript, XML, HTML
    An understanding of object oriented programming, J2EE architecture desirable.
    An understanding of the components in a LAMP stack and SOA system desirable.
    Database skills within MySQL environment.
    Skills with Linux operating system.
    Knowledge of automated testing tools.
    An understanding of the components of a high performance web application (web servers, application servers, caching, IP concepts, etc.)
    Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously.

Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
