Candidates who do not possess a Six Sigma Black Belt Certification will not be considered.
Lead, develop, and execute the strategy for Six Sigma project implementation.
Individual Contributor (no people management responsibilities) in this role will work with executive leadership to select and prioritize projects to ensure work aligns with strategic goals.
Responsible for engaging the entire value chain, utilizing a very “hands on” approach, to create buy-in and improve business performance.
Focus primarily on identifying, diagnosing, prescribing, and implementing continuous improvement solutions related to improving the company’s financial performance.
Key Operational Responsibilities
Create project plans and lead project teams, including personnel certified at the Green, Yellow and Black Belt levels, to complete improvement projects in a timely manner
Utilize D.M.A.I.C. process (http://asq.org/learn-about-quality/six-sigma/overview/dmaic.html) to lead, manage and execute six sigma projects
Train and coach all levels of the organization including yellow and green belts in application of six sigma tools to improve business performance
Capture lessons learned and feed back into the organization’s management systems to drive change to prevent reoccurrence of systemic issues
Engage the value chain by seeking appropriate involvement in product, process, equipment and method issues
Assist in scoping projects to a clear and concise project definition, collecting and statistically analyzing data
Verify project impact to business performance, including scheduling, leading, and executing project gate reviews and report outs
Develop constructive cross functional partnerships and processes driven by strong communications to facilitate efficient and effective improvement project execution across the organization
Minimum Qualifications
BS Technical Engineering Degree or BA / BS Business degree
MA / MS in Engineering, Statistics, Business or a related field preferred
Six Sigma Black Belt certification from a university, institute, corporation or professional society
5 years experience leading and executing Six Sigma projects in a dedicated Six Sigma / Lean position.
Must have expertise in statistical and lean manufacturing methods e.g. Control charts, Pareto principle, capability analysis, probability/regression, design of experiments, Value Stream Mapping, Poka-Yoke, SMED, Andon, etc
Documented implementation of a Six Sigma project with a $500,000 or more ROI
Motorola University or GE Institute training a plus
Must be willing to travel extensively
Proficiency with statistical and process management software, such as Minitab, and flow charting software or process mapping software, such as Igrafx
