Job Description

My client is a specialist global engineering company supplying engineering consultancy and advanced simulation based engineering solutions to the power and process and many more industries. They specialise in:       Electrical Consultancy & Design; IC & A; Safety related consultancy; Simulator development support, and training. They are involved in projects at all stages of the engineering consultancy value chain from initial plant specification through plant and process modelling and simulation to through-life safety and operational support. Their client list includes some of the world’s largest corporations in oil and gas, chemicals, power, nuclear and utilities.

An opportunity has arisen for a driven, enthusiastic, engineering manager to join the management team and take responsibility for expanding the existing IC & A capability.  The candidate must be focused on the development of team operations and staff to achieve growth aspirations alongside overall business objectives.  This will be underpinned by the energy to engage with existing and new clients to support the development of IC & A business in existing and new markets. This is a combined technical and commercial role in an established engineering design and consultancy business.   

Applications are invited from candidates who fulfil the following criteria: Degree qualified or equivalent in Control or Instrumentation engineering; Minimum of 7 years industry related experience in Instrument Control & Automation at the design, implementation and project management level; A proven track record of technical leadership on EPC type capital and/or revenue projects; Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI configuration and specification of equipment; Appreciation and understanding of relevant UK, European & international standards, codes of practice and procedures; Knowledge of high integrity SIL rated systems with a related qualification will be a major advantage; Computer literate in MS Office desktop applications, company management systems and project management software; Good problem solving skills;        Excellent communications skills; written and verbal;  Ability to communicate with clients and internally at all levels;       Commercially aware; Prepared to travel; Good presentation skills; The drive, ambition and commercial acumen to develop the company and fast track their role within it.
