Business Technology Specialist

Toronto - First Canadian Place

6 months (with option to convert to full time after 6 months)

This project falls within the Trading Products Risk group, including CCR (Counterparty Credit Risk, SunGard Adaptiv), CVA (Credit Value Adjustment), Exposure Management and Economic Capital.

The application(s) are currently in production, but need continuous operational support and process oversight. There are also multiple initiatives that are currently happening and will happen in the future that need strong support.

The Business Technology Specialist (BTS) is an expert and focal point for knowledge of technology and industry trends applicable to a Line of Business (LOB). The BTS develops, implements tactical initiatives and providesvalue-added, professional advice to both the Technology Head (TH) senior management team, and occasionally to the TRM and business partners. The BTS helps to ensure that the LOB direction falls within systems architecture planning, design and integration strategies, and communicates technology direction to personnel within the LOB or Technology and Operations (T&O).

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide leadership to LOB on technological opportunities

Research, monitor and communicate business and technology trends

-

Research, monitor and communicate competitor use of technology

-

Develop and maintain a positive partnership with the Business Partner and vendors

-

Provide proposals on technological opportunities to the Business Partner

Work closely with cross functional teams to provide technology solutions to the Business Partner including sizing and feasibilities

Represent LOB technology directions to Operations

-

Provide technical guidance to LOB personnel

-

Provide counsel to Project Teams to ensure alignment to Business and IT strategies

Identify new and changing technical skill set requirements

-

Represent the Bank on Industry and other external committees

-

Provide experties on internal platforms and vendor platforms on performance management, capacity planning, platform roadmap

Provide expertiese on service management with vendor platform from BMO persepctive

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Financial/banking experience

Experience working in a similar role in a large financial institution
