Job Description

Job Overview:
For this Project Management role inside the PMO the primary responsibilities include overall leadership and accountability of complex projects, including, but not limited to, satisfying the intended business results with a successful and timely implementation. Identifying key barriers to a projects success and actively manages all mitigation activities. Ensuring all project contributors successfully complete assigned tasks as scheduled. Core responsibility for managing relationships and communicating with the project sponsor, senior management and a wide range of project contributors.
Major Accountabilities:
oProvide leadership and oversight on various projects of a complex nature. Responsible for planning, developing, and executing schedules to ensure timely completion of project deadlines and milestones. Responsible for compiling project budget and ensuring the project stays in line with this budget.
oEnsure methodology compliance and manage resolutions, reporting to management when necessary.
oEnsure timely and accurate communication with project contributors throughout the life cycle of the project. Must be familiar with the system`s scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the teams. Identify and monitor project risks.
oRegularly communicates to senior management regarding the status of specific project deliverables.
oProvide measurable input into new products, processes, standards or plans in support of the business.
oEffectively lead the project team to align with the business objectives, project schedule, and project budget.
oEffectively deal with difficult situations. Help develop solutions to complex problems. Ability to mentor junior Project Managers.
Education:
oBachelor`s degree desired, Master`s Preferred, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
oPMP certification preferred
Knowledge / Experience:
oAdvanced knowledge and demonstrated expertise in the areas of strategy, planning and project management required processes and techniques.
o5 to 8 years of experience with Project Management structured methodology and project planning tools. Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies preferred.
oKnowledge of payments industry preferred, MasterCard specific knowledge highly preferred.
