AIX Systems Administrator (closed)
We are seeking an experienced hands-on AIX System Administrator. This is a technical hands-on position for an experienced self-motivated administrator who will be an integral part of a Unix services team. The team is responsible for supporting critical business systems like SAP. This position requires hands on experience designing, configuring, and supporting complex AIX systems. This hands-on position will work in conjunction with SAP Basis administration team as we continue to roll out SAP across the enterprise.

Job responsibilities include:
- Design, configure, and support complex AIX systems including high-availability and disaster recovery
- Perform routine maintenance patch installation
- Perform systems management functions and monitoring, performance analysis, workload balancing, and tuning
- Perform system troubleshooting, analysis, and problem resolution
- Create and monitor procedures for system backup, restore, and recovery
- Fully document all procedures and policies associated with AIX Administration
- Participate and support disaster recovery initiatives and change management standards and procedures
- Interact in a cross-team capacity to meet operational and needs
- Mentor other project team members in areas of expertise
Requirements:
- 5+ years proven AIX technical experience, preferably version 6.0+
- 5+ technical hands-on expertise in managing and supporting the Power platform(P7 preferred)
- 3-5 years Hands-on experience with LPAR virtualization, NIM, VIO, and MKSYSB
- Experience designing and managing AIX in a load-balancing, high-availability configuration.
- Ability to periodically work under a high-stress environment and perform isolation and determination work under extreme time constraints in emergency conditions
- Proven analytical, problem solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to operate independently and as part of a team, establishing & maintaining effective working relationships
- Bachelor Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proof of authorization to work in the United States
- Lives in Northern Ohio (relocation assistance is not available)
Preferred:
- Experience working with SAP BASIS administrators to optimize SAP & DB2 application performance and reliability preferred
- Power7
- Experience running an AIX system for SAP systems
- Configuring and provisioning SAN storage: IBM XIV storage systems
- TSM experience
- Virtualized networks experience, VLAN tagging and Cisco
- Experience managing a large, complex multiple data center environment
