Job Description

Job Title:  Director of Manufacturing

 

  1. I.                   REPORTING TO:

 

Direct Manager Title:  VP of Manufacturing

  1. III.             MISSION:

                       

                                                               

The mission is to guide the production department according to “People Management Operating Principles” to satisfy customer demand at the lowest cost and highest possible level of quality.  This is achieved by driving the GCM vision throughout the department.  Creating measurable goals and objectives that keep everyone focused on the end result.     

 

  1. IV.              FUNCTIONS:

           

  • Oversee execution of production plan
  • Ensure production quality standards are met
  • Ensure production floor is safe and maintain LTA goals
  • Prepare and execute capital plan to increase productivity
  • Maintain service level
  • Oversee bulk making area. Ensure bulk is made on time and RFT.
  • Develop annual department budget
  • Develop department personnel for advancement
  • Maintain daily interaction with the production floor, concentrating on GPR,RFT and safety improvements
  • Coordinate and participate in monthly APR and gap analysis.

 

            2)  Mgr/HR Responsibilities

  • Health & Safety / Working Conditions
    • Establish clear guidelines to improve working conditions (noise, light, traffic) and ensure action plans are executed
    • Ensure and follow up on 5S and BOS audits and results
    • Ensure all accidents are properly investigated
    • Ensure all equipment used in department are in accordance with the H&S guidelines.
    • Ensure that H&S audit results meet target.
    • Recruitment
      • Participate in hiring of all department exempt employees and mechanics.
      • Develop integration plan for all new exempt hires
      • Training
        • Define training needs of all departments exempt employees
        • Create qualification process for all trainings
        • Develop training plan for all new exempt employees
        • Reward
          • Perform annual performance appraisals for all direct reports
          • Ensure all department PMP’s are executed in the appropriate time frame
          • Development
            • Design and execute individual development plans for each direct report.
            • Participate in the Succession plan of the site
            • Discipline
              • Oversee all disciplinary actions within the department
            • Information
              • Manage and execute monthly action plan reviews.
              • Manage and execute monthly information meetings with scorecard results, main project statuses, interdepartmental announcements and Plant GM communications
            • Labor Relations
              • Maintain open door policy to interact with all employees
              • Meditate any employees issues

EDUCATION
