Job Description

This role will provide support across the Default (Mortgage Banking) organization with a primary focus on defining and developing data queries and reporting relative to operational performance. This candidate will work very closely with the mortgage default business, management, compensation and other Data/Business Analysts to ensure the appropriate reports are developed and deployed as needed. In addition, this candidate will play a key role in helping to manage strategic initiatives and identify process efficiencies as it relates to data.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design, write and maintain data requests/queries to support the business
• Interface with LOB and MIS resources to ensure that the reports are accurate and deployed in a timely manner
• Design, develop, and document reporting/coding/programming requirements as defined by the business
• Create and maintain consistency in reporting across the organization where possible
• Work closely with the MIS team to investigate issues and resolve any reporting discrepancies
• Analyze a wide range of reports and presentations used across the organization for accuracy and consistency
• Identify data process improvements and leverage technology to automate and streamline existing processes
• Document all desktop procedures for all work related functions and assist in cross-training backups
• As needed; the ability to supervise, lead and/or mentor other team members - share your knowledge
• Assist in the development of ad-hoc reports or presentations as needed by senior management
• Additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required - preferably in MIS or Computer Science,
• Detail oriented with strong organizational, technical and analytic skills; also important is good judgment, problem solving skills and decision making abilities
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial services, mortgage default is highly preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with data mining tools and/or programming experience (SQL, Business Objects, TOAD, Access, VBA, SAS)
• Strong knowledge of database environments - Oracle/ SQL Server
• Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL language (Table, View, Trigger, Procedure, Package & etc?)
• High degree of IT literacy, e.g. views, reporting packages, advanced Excel, Word, Cognos, Access and PowerPoint
• Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments and organizations; must be a team player
• Ability to manage shifting priorities (flexible) and work in a time sensitive environment (deadline driven deliverables)
