Job Description

Director - Qualitative Project Management

Our client is a global organisation dedicated to putting information at the service of medicine.  Their primary purpose is to help clients increase the effectiveness of activities pertaining to scientific communication, medical education and product/service marketing.

Qualitative Project Management Director is a critical role within the business which involves responsibility for the delivery of qualitative projects for their businesses in Europe and North America, but could be of a global nature. This role will also be responsible for management of a team of Qualitative Project Managers, with a remit to deliver Qualitative projects on time, to specification and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, develop and train an exceptional team of Project Managers 
  • Conduct regular performance reviews to develop individuals and ensure clarity of role and responsibilities amongst all team members
  • Allocate workload
  • Support business development teams in developing project timelines and customer management
  • Ensure that the Project Managers work efficiently and seamlessly with each other and the wider operations team.
  • Provide coaching to the team on how to deal with challenging projects in a highly professional manner
  • Identify knowledge and skill gaps within the team and initiate/develop coaching and training programs
  • Ensure that projects are delivered, on time, to specification and within budget
  • Ensure studies are executed to meet client specifications and expectations with regards to quality and timeliness
  • Access and manage risk throughout the project lifecycle, taking appropriate action to mitigate any potential issues
  • Constantly review and strike for improvements in overall efficiency of the Project Management organisation
  • Identify areas for cost saving and process improvement
  • Introduce the Project Management team to project budget management and ensure effect use of project budget information
  • Ensure that all project team members have the resources to manage each project successfully from start-to-finish
  • Effectively second line manage Project Management Team Leaders
  • Manage issue resolution
  • Manage day to day communications with the client facing account teams,  Programming, Translation, and Field Services
  • Work closely with Global colleagues on Global Initiatives and Systems implementation
  • Effectively manage relationship between Project Management Team and Account Directors
  • Identification of knowledge gaps within the team and demonstrable implementation of team training address team development plan

Skills/qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, clear thinker, with a passion for research. You will also have;

  • Education to Degree level
  • Strong experience and ethos of quality and client service
  • Qualitative MR experience essential, Quantitative highly desirable
  • A strong understanding of the healthcare online market research fieldwork process, methodologies and timing
  • Proven line management experience of a team delivering online market research projects
  • A proven track record of being highly organized and used to dealing with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • A strong understanding of existing market research methods adopted by the pharmaceutical sector
  • The ability to understand our customers’ needs and to champion their needs within our organization
  • Excellent communication and client management skills
