Our client, a global financial services organization has asked Bagg Technology Resources to exclusively find a Junior Developer to join their organization.

 

You have completed a min. 1 or 2 co-op's or internships as a software developer and looking to launch your career.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
·        Provide support for the systems and assist maintenance team in the resolution of 2nd level application incidents.
·        Participate in fixing bugs and develop solutions for minor enhancements.
·        Work with senior programmers, support staff, and product managers to plan program code and database changes.
·        Create, test, and maintain IT's scheduled tasks.
·        Create maintenance reports for senior management team.
·        Provide assistance to technical staff when needed.
·        Occasionally contact end users as may be needed to clarify the intent of a new feature or resolve a problem.
·        Provide general programming assistance to other programmers as may be needed
·        Contribute and assist with all development life cycle phases: translation of business requirements into design documents, development, unit testing, and integration.
·        Provide business with technical expertise and offer advice and solutions to technical queries.
·        Ensure quality of deliverables through compliance with specification definition, code standard reviews, and design walkthroughs.
·        Produce documentation like Bug Investigation Report, Design documents, Technical Specifications, Deployment Notes, as well as code comments.

QUALIFICATIONS:
·        Completion of University Degree (preferably with focus on computer science, engineering or math).
·               1 - 3 years or more development experience.
·                1 -2 years or more experience in object oriented design.
·                Strong knowledge of development methodologies.
·                Object-oriented analysis and design. Familiarity with design patterns.
·                Solid understanding and hands on experience with database design
·                Good knowledge of MS SQL.
·                Good knowledge of .NET 2.0
·                Good knowledge of Java/J2EE.
·                Ability to integrate with other systems via WebSerives.
·                Superior time management and estimation capabilities and ability to perform several tasks concurrently.
·                Ability to generate creative solutions to business problems, especially with regards to assisting in systems analysis and solutions design.
·                Ability to complete Business Specification if required, Functional and Technical Specification.
·                Experience creating prototypes to verify user requirements, system design documents and developing guidelines and standards.
·                Quick learner of new technologies and procedures
·                Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be a team player.
·                Superior organizational skills are essential.
·                Self-starter with ability to work independently.
·                Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
·                Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize according to business objectives.
·                Have a "customer-service" orientation

In addition to the skills mentioned above, one or more of the following would be an asset:

·        SQL Reporting Services
·        Knowledge and/or working experience with Powerbuilder 10
·        Experience with Websphere application server.
·        UML standards and tools.
·        Working experience with MQ Series.
·        Experience with VisualStudio 2008.
