Job Description
Responsibilities
- Develop the front-end of our web products
- Develop and implement front-end coding standards and process which promote quality. Identify opportunities for improvements/efficiencies and drive adoption within the team
- Lead by example, significantly contributing in the writing of valid, well-organized code
- Stay current with user interface best practices to track latest trends and emerging technologies
- Manage time efficiently with minimal supervision to accurately scope projects and ensure on-time releases
- Create efficient cross-browser compliant web pages from design comps
- Create a rich user experience using JavaScript and other client-side RIA frameworks
- Maintain website content
- 5+ years of developing rich, customer-facing web applications
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Design experience using Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash
- Skilled at creating engaging, usable interfaces that drive user engagement
- Strong HTML, CSS and JavaScript knowledge
- Significant experience with the JQuery library and working with JQuery plugins
- Experience with ExtJS helpful
- Experience in applying web development best practices with respect to security, scalability, maintainability, reliability and usability
- Extensive knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and browser degradation strategies
- Understanding of view templating frameworks
- Good understanding of the issues surrounding backend application server technologies (preferably J2EE/JEE)
- Well-versed in code optimization and software design principles, with a passion and demonstrated experience in UI design and development
- Work well under the pressures of deadlines and handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Software version control and release management experience
