vtrIT has a long-term opportunity available in Renton, WA for an AIX Systems Administrator.

Position Description:

This position is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of UNIX-based Server Operating Systems supporting business operations, especially for AIX systems. In addition, the role will include:

 

• Monitoring of back-up logs and system performance monitoring.
• Providing timely resolution of issues.
• Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis.
• Performing hardware maintenance.

This is an estimated 6-12 month Contingent/Temporary position in Renton, WA. This position is offered through vtrIT, located in Redmond, WA.  AIX Systems Administrator Qualifications:

 

• BS in Computer Science and/or Engineering OR equivalent education and experience. 
• 5+ years of progressive experience in Systems Engineering.  
• 1 year of recent experience installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting AIX systems.  
• Shell Scripting skill and experience.  
• Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical staff.  
• Travel required.
