Our direct client located in NYC is looking for a  Salesforce.com CRM Project Manager.

Primary Purpose:

  • The Project Manager will be responsible for all planning, execution and successful completion of a key systems and technology project in a retail / CRM systems area (4-month engagement, through end of September 2012)
  • Also responsible for closely following the methodology established by the IS Project Management Office, and using our client’s standard project management tool, Daptiv.

 

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Project Management to:

  • Facilitate day-to-day operational work on the project, including communications, status reporting, project plan management and updates, and resource oversight
  • Assist IS Delivery Lead in ensuring project milestones are being met on time, and with expected quality
  • Ensure clear and attainable project objectives are defined according to the project purpose and need; Define project success criteria and metrics for measuring; Ensuring project objectives are accomplished within the stipulated time frame of the project
  • Follow  necessary and appropriate level of project governance; as well as  defined structure, roles/responsibilities, people, information and processes for necessary governance (decision making)
  • Clearly define project scope and proactively manage changes in scope over the life of the project
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with key stakeholders and project team
  • Create, execute and manage a well-defined project plan and schedule with tasks and resource assignments
  • Responsible for all project financials and management of overall project budget, ensuring adequate and necessary funding for project delivery
  • Conduct effective and efficient project team status meetings
  • Provide timely and effective standard project status reports to stakeholders, which includes key issues and risks
  • Institute a routine issue and risk management process
  • Proactively monitor progress and critical path, identify potential crises and determine contingency plans
  • Define the project team and the necessary roles/responsibilities required to successfully deliver the project; Ensure the necessary staff and skill sets are acquired and trained, both internal and external
  • When appropriate, coach, mentor and motivate project team members
  • Follow the IS Project Management Methodology processes and tools and PM best practices in managing the project
  • Clearly define deliverables and accountability of deliverables; Track project deliverables and ensure all necessary PM and SDLC deliverables are reviewed and signed off on a timely basis to ensure quality
  • Assist in the development of key presentations to IS Leadership or other company Executives as required (i.e., providing necessary project status information)
  • Conduct project post mortems and provide recommendations for improvements

The accomplished individual will possess:

  • 10+ years of project management experience
  • Understanding of theoretical project management best practices and practical application of those practices on large, complex and cross functional projects
  • PMI qualification is desired
  • 5+ years of experience in using a PPM tool
  • Retail experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of SalesForce CRM is preferred
