Job Description

TrainingFolks is seeking an entry-level  instructional designer/Trainer to fulfill our client's learning initiatives. This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity in the Dallas/Fort Worth area!

The Instructional Designer/Trainer will be required to:

  • Develop content and curriculum as assigned by the Director of Training for internal and external audiences

  • Interact with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to identify, collect and develop content for training courses

  • Develop learning objectives for each course and ensure content aligns with objectives

  • Revise and rewrite content to shape it for the learning needs of each audience

  • Assist in creating support tools to deliver and aid in learning, e.g., visual aids for face-to-face, various multimedia for e-learning and video on-demand training

  • Develop comprehension assessments, to include test, surveys and evaluation of results

  • Assist in developing evaluation of ROI for each training course

  • Adapt instructional materials for multiple  formats

  • Facilitate/lead training courses as needed

  • Coordinate training department logistics as needed

  • Assist with home office and road show training program for outside financial advisors

  • Manage special projects as required

The ideal Instructional Designer/Trainer shall possess:

  • 0-2 years instructional design experience
  • 0-2 years training experience
  • 0-2 years training content writing experience
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Ability to produce learning content and operating procedures quickly and according to sound adult learning principles
  • Willingness to seek out and respond to feedback regarding work product or work style
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High level of organizational skills
  • e-learning and video on demand development experience helpful
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of LMS software
  • Platform speaking skills helpful, but not required
  • Bachelor’s and or Master’s degree in instructional design.  Bachelor’s degree in training, business, finance or human resources will also be considered with 1-2 years practical experience in instructional design
  • Ability to occasionally travel (5-10%)

Overall compensation for this role is positioned as ‘competitive’ and will vary depending on your level of experience, and number of years you have applied your skills.
