Under the direction of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the Strategic Offender Management System (SOMS) project will consolidate existing databases and records to provide a fully automated system and replace manual paper processes. This project will upgrade and standardize adult, juvenile, and parole data and population management practices enterprise-wide to further enhance staff, offender and public safety. The goal of the SOMS project is to replace CDCR's disparate legacy application systems and array of paper files with an integrated offender management system (OMS) and electronic records management system (ERMS).

This position is located in Rancho Cordova, CA.  Interested individuals must be in the Rancho Cordova, CA area or be willing to relcoate to the Rancho Cordova, CA area.

Implement, manage, administer and troubleshoot SOMS web middleware components in various SOMS environments and locations:

• Main representation for OPS team for Weblogic/Apache Area
• Main interface for Weblogic/Apache activities
• Ownership of Web Middleware responsibilities
• Direct interface with application development teams for understanding, implementing, administering web middleware components and integration
• Configuration of each web middleware server and base distribution model
• Document maintenance quarterly, forecast and schedule

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• 2 years experience with Weblogic configuration administration in an Unix environment
• Able to determine, configure and tune Weblogic on HP UX for application use.
• 2 years experience with Apache Web Server configuration administration.  
• Solid Documentation skills
• Strong ability to work in a team and customer environment
• Determine operations support requirements
• Compute platform knowledge OS Wintel, Unix, Linux
• Security concepts for Firewall, Access, Rights/Trusts, AD/LDAP
• 1 year production experience (configuration and administration) with 3 tier network and security environments required.
• Solid documentation skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong ability to work in a team and customer environment

Desired:

• Experience with Oracle WebGate/WebCenter configuration, administration, monitoring and management tools including reporting on Oracle WebGate/WebCenter activity performance.
• Application experience: EMC Documentum; Weblogic on HP UX; Oracle IDM; Oracle 11 DB; Weblogic LAN/WAN performance troubleshooting experience; development experience with Weblogic
