We are currently looking for a SAN Engineer with IT project management with experience in production environments. This position requires extensive management skills, experience leading small teams, and be able to demonstrate an advanced understanding of project management methodologies. In this role, you must be able to direct operational traffic and coordinate daily and project activities.

Ideal SAN Engineers will have extensive experience with installations, preventative and remedial maintenance of servers, software, network, storage and SAN equipment in a lab environment.

• SAN Engineer responsibilities:
• Answer technical questions about data center hardware and software.
• Interface with server and storage vendors to establish successful integration of equipment into associated systems, including technical assistance.
• Perform other lab duties as required.

Education/ Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (Technical), or commensurate experience
• SAN Engineer Experience required: 2-5 years

SAN Engineer Skills:

• ITIL knowledge/experience
• 3+ years of:
  • SAN/NAS
  • Host support of all major operating systems (AIX, Unix, Linux, Windows)
  • Virtualization (VMware, configuration/management)
  • Networking Skills (basic)

• Proficiency in Unix (Solaris, Linux, HP-UX & AIX),Windows 2000/2003/XP and Storage Area Networking technology
• Demonstrated understanding of Symmetrix storage array
• Understanding in TCP/IP networking and system virtualization technologies
• Ability to develop local tools or automation scripts in support of large lab initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to work individually or in a team environment
• High degree of communication and customer service skills
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
