Software Engineer – ABLJP00035489

This is a 6+ month contract position with a leading global health care company located in Santa Clara, California.

Primary Function:

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

Designs and Develops software (interfacing with and/or controlling User Interfaces, instrumentation, analog and digital signal processing, control systems, algorithms, etc) for use in Medical Devices.

Revises existing software to resolve issues associated with customer requirements, component obsolescence, and/or product performance.

Works with Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Operations, Supplier Quality, and external suppliers to develop, evaluate and release new designs for integration into an existing product portfolio.

Develops and/or implements verification and/or validation studies associated with software, product designs, assembly and/or test fixtures, and/or manufacturing processes.

Generates and/or coordinates the generation of engineering change documentation associated with software, product designs, assembly and/or test fixtures, and/or manufacturing processes.

Supports the efforts of the Senior Software Engineers.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Software Engineering or closely related discipline with at least 3-5 years relevant work experience is required.

Experience with Visual Studio, C/C++, Managed C++, MFC (Microsoft Foundation Class), SQL Server, .NET Framework, CLI preferred. Additional experience with embedded programming desired, but not required.

Knowledge of FDA and/or international regulations and standards affecting Medical Devices and Biologics preferred. Experience with government and/or third party regulatory agencies (DOD, FAA, IEC, UL, SEMI, ISO, etc.) will be considered in lieu of medical regulatory experience.
