Material Handler
Works under general supervision of supervisor or Group Leader.
Using forklifts, electric pallet jacks and drum runners, moves or stages material for purposes of shipping, receiving, warehousing, marrying or compounding.
May replenish materials in robots or other containers/bins.
May collect, transfer and/or sample material from tanks to drums or other containers.
May collect, transfer and/or sample required materials, transferring them to a single mixing vessel.
May weigh, open, close, seal or label containers.
Responsible for inventory accuracy checks and cycle counts, as well as rotating stock to ensure FIFO policy is maintained.
May be required to inspect paperwork for receiving materials and check physical condition of containers.
Performs daily equipment inspections.
Must be able to read and write English, have a working knowledge of basic arithmetic. Must be familiar with American and metric weighing systems. Must have knowledge of automated or computer based material tracking systems.
Must be able to operate a variety of specialized equipment, including forklifts, electric jacks, and drum runners. Must be able to operate measuring devices, such as scales, scanner guns, etc. and be able to perform routine maintenance on same. Must be experienced in entering/retrieving data from computer based systems including but not limited to SAP.
