Job Description

Director of Sales

 

Position Summary: This position, reporting to the CEO, will be responsible for all facets of corporate sales including driving sales growth, managing key business relationships, identifying product and geographical expansion opportunities, analyzing performance, new product development, and managing sales staff.

 

This position will be the key contact with our major Big Box retail customers, as well with other important external contacts in the community and industry. Consequently, interested candidates should possess excellent interpersonal, sales presentation, marketing and communication skills, and be willing to travel domestically 10-15% of the time.

 

Must have experience dealing with major chain retailers, such as The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Target, Wal-Mart, Albertsons, etc., as well as experience with outdoor garden, live nursery or a related product field is highly desired.

 

The candidate should possess seasoned computer and technology skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher as well as experience working with emerging marketing technologies. A strong statistical background, specifically in the area of quantitative sales, forecasting, trend, and performance analysis is highly valued. Specific experience utilizing Big Box sales analysis portals would be ideal.

 

A bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business management, communications or a related field is REQUIRED, and 5 to 10 years experience in a sales management position is necessary.

•Horticulturist with experience selling outdoor garden, live nursery, and green goods

•Must have experience working with major chain retailers, such as The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Target, Wal-Mart, Albertsons, etc.

•5 to 10 Years of Management or Executive Level experience

•Bachelor’s Degree Required
