Job Description

Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen within Group Risk & Compliance for an interim Risk & Business Support Consultant (Savings) to assist the Workplace Savings Division in the effective identification, control and management of regulatory and operational risks, providing day-to-day guidance and support.

The role will be a 5 month Fixed Term Contract, to support the Workplace Savings business and enhance the customer experience by ensuring that there is a robust risk control framework that enables the operational and regulatory risks to be effectively identified, managed and mitigated.

The role requires involvement in all manner of processes relating to both new and existing business and a high degree of influence in respect of matters that potentially expose Legal & General to regulatory or reputational risk, sometimes working autonomously or as part of a (business wide) project team. Therefore it is important that the jobholder is equally comfortable when working alone or as part of a team.

Skills required

Good regulatory knowledge and experience of FSA rules and practices

Good knowledge of pensions products and legislation, particularly occupational and group pensions

Awareness of wider business and regulatory environment and ability to understand the potential impacts of market and regulatory changes on L&G

Well organised. Able to step back and consider the wider implications of activities and issues and to explain the potential regulatory impacts of such issues

Confident, experienced influencer. Able to use a range of approaches to influence management at all levels

Strong customer focus. Ensuring that the customer is at the heart of the work they do and able to understand and articulate the issues customers face and how best these could be addressed

Experience interpreting and applying regulatory rules to practical scenarios and helping devise compliant, but commercially acceptable solutions
