Position Summary:

 

The Senior Manager will lead the execution of eCommerce Services for specified region including local and regional promotions, SEO, PPC, retailing, website management, local email, social media and more.  The Senior Manager will serve as the primary point for regional teams and hotels, managing the day-to-day hands-on service for a hotel portfolio and leading a team of eCommerce Managers.

 

The Senior Manager will drive hotel online revenues and contribution through the management and execution of localized online services whilst ensuring activities are aligned with brand and corporate strategy.

 

The Senior Manager will lead and execute eCommerce activities in the region, working cooperatively with regional directors, managers and senior managers to advance company goals, while supporting and directing regional and local level online promotions and managing key messages to internal and external stakeholders. 

 

The Senior Manager will seek-out and recommend new forms of cutting-edge technologies for test-and-learn applications to drive competitive advantage, revenue and plan ROI.

Planning Activities

  • Identifies Americas hotel goals and develops online business plan to achieve said goals.  Presents plan to stakeholders annually and administers regular follow-up to ensure hotel/region is on target to achieve goals. 
  • Researches and helps to identify business opportunities for Americas hotel online performance improvement and reports findings and conclusions to department leadership.
  • Stays abreast of all online marketing channels including cutting-edge technology, systems and opportunities and makes recommendations for implementation within eCommerce department and hotels.
  • Manages directly and project manages all eCommerce activities for portfolio and works cooperatively with subject matter experts to develop and execute plans

Organizing Activities

  • Manages the cross-functional links between Global Online Services, and Key Stakeholders/Departments in Americas.
  • Leverages effective partnerships with Global eCommerce, Search, Revenue Management, Brand Sales, Brand Marketing, HSW, and Hotel Operations.
  • Works cooperatively with eCommerce Managers and team members. Develops and shares Best Practices, test results and any other information which may improve the performance of the overall department.

Directing Activities

  • In accordance with brand guidelines, Senior eCommerce Manager develops and maintains hotel content and ensures site(s) are fully optimized with images, fresh search engine optimized content, and appeals to visitors.
  • Partners with eCommerce teams, Revenue Management, Hotel Performance Support and Hotel Tools & Resources to ensure hotel and regional level promotions are aligned with over-arching brand positioning and strategy.
  • Researches and compares competitive set against hotels including but not limited to organic, local and paid search placement, onsite merchandizing, social media, rate retailing and more.
  • Communicates important and necessary information to stakeholders via memos, reports, and phone calls.
  • Adheres to measurements of Global eCommerce for websites to ensure effectiveness, usage, and awareness.
  • Manages the objectives for hotels in portfolio and how those objectives are going to be accomplished. Additionally, oversees annual plan for hotels in region managed by eCommerce Manager
  • Continuously analyzes portfolio performance against standards to determine whether the portfolio is on target to reach goals. Provides monthly, quarterly and ad hoc performance reports to all stakeholders and adjusts activities and plans as necessary to achieve goals.
  • Ensures business plan is being followed and goals are being achieved and provides feedback to department leadership accordingly.
  • Manages activity within budget guidelines.

  • Ensures appropriate talent is identified in compliance with department staffing plan.  Develops current talent to achieve greater strategic goals and performance.
  • Determines staffing needs and oversee the recruiting, hiring, training, and developing of departmental team members. 
  • Works with direct reports on goals to assist in accomplishing department initiatives and their own career objectives.    

Controlling Activities

  • Translates organizational goals and objectives into performance standards for individual positions. 
  • Assesses actual performance against standards to determine whether the regional team is on target to reach its goals and takes corrective actions as necessary. 
  • Ensures business plan and goals are being followed and achieved, providing feedback or revising the plan, if needed. 
  • Enforces policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the Company.

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

 

  • Support brand liaisons with analytics of hotel engagement and metrics.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Four (4) year college degree
  • Five (5) years of prior work experience
  • Three (3) or more years of Digital, Online, Media or eCommerce experience (SEO, Paid Search) with at least one year of experience at manager level or above
  • Two or more years of experience analyzing data and presenting the findings to internal and/or external customers
  • Two or more years experience maintaining internal or external customer relationships and satisfaction
  • Highly proficent in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and a minimum of 1 year using these programs in a professional environment successfully
