This is our direct-client opening for a Java Developer located in Carpinteria, CA. This is a full-time position and our client prefers local candidates, but will consider nonlocal candidates as well and provided a nominal $2500-$5000 bonus to cover relocation costs. The salary range for this position is 80-90K.

Description: The individual must be highly collaborative and knowledgeable in web application and middleware development on the J2EE platform. The candidate will work as part of a team responsible for new application development and improving existing applications to meet the changing needs of our business.  Participate/Provide technical specifications based on business requirements.  Analyze specifications and develop solutions.  Test, troubleshoot and deploy solutions.  Production support for existing applications.  Troubleshoot reported problems for a piece of functionality (Ex. Billing portion of websites we manage).  Work on browser based applications and call center applications. 

The Java Developer will contribute in these areas:

* Custom intranet and extranet web-based applications
* Enterprise content management and web publishing
* Develop Service Oriented Architecture for business process execution and system integration
* Collaboration and workflow in production and non-production related business areas

Skills required:

* 3+ years enterprise development experience with Java

* 3+ years experience with J2EE technologies
* 3+ years working with web technologies including HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX
* Significant experience with web application development
* Significant experience with using Spring, Hibernate

* Experience with MVC web frameworks

* Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Desirable skills:

* Experience with content management systems such as Liferay

* Experience with OO programming & design patterns

* Experience with Relational Databases, including locking and concurrency issues
