Overview of role

The Proprietary Research Associate will be part of the Proprietary Research Team at our firm.  The Primary Research Team’s job is to work with the Investment Team to identify, initiate, and execute primary research projects both directly and in partnership with third-party service providers.  Duties will include developing and executing surveys, accessing relevant data sources, coordinating or conducting telephone surveys and store visits, tracking trends and identifying key nodes within relevant channels and ecosystems, etc.  In addition, Proprietary Research Associates will be expected to synthesize and summarize primary data, provide key takeaways for investment staff, identify best-in-class service providers on a global basis, and work closely with our Legal and Compliance staff on research best practices. 

Qualifications

•             BA or BS from a top university with a history of academic achievement

•             1-4 years of work experience in finance, research, or related fields, with knowledge of both open-source and proprietary research process

•             Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

•             Meticulous attention to detail

•             Self-motivated, ability to work independently and think creatively within a team environment

•             Strong work ethic and desire to excel in a dynamic work environment

•             Advanced ability in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
