Job Description

Responsible for establishing quality processes that meet customer and internal company requirements and expectations. Interacts accordingly with all parties involved to assure that quality objectives are met. This is accomplished through the following tasks.

 

  • Creation/Development/Maintenance (Deliverables)
    • Project timing plans (timelines and action plans)
    • Completing action items / deliverables on-time
    • Meeting Gauge R&R requests
    • Process Auditing
    • Active participation in document review (Procedures, Work Instructions, PFMEA and Control Plans)
    • Review of Customer Report Cards – daily
    • Responsible for tracking completion of all customer audits w/evidence
    • Customer training requirements for website navigation
    • Creating Operator Quality Instruction Sheets (QIS)
    • Owner/creator of Control Plans for quality assurance
    • Has a working knowledge of FMEA’s for assigned parts/processes - Participates in development
    • Corrective Actions – internal and external
      • Prepares for weekly meeting
      • Problem solving through effective root cause analysis
    • Responds to Customer Complaints
      • Immediate and On time to all requests formal and informal
      • Accurate
    • Corrective Actions (Customer/Internal/TS/ISO/Safety)
      • Supervises containment activities to include internal and external activities
      • Champions Corrective Action activities internally and externally
      • Root Cause Analysis using 6M, 5 Why, Cause & Effect and Fault Tree Analysis
      • 8 D corrective action response format
      • Verification
      • Closed on or before due date
    • Subject Matter expert for assigned:
      • Communicating and training associates in customer requirements/expectations
      • Customer Expectations and Requirements
      • Customer Portals
    • PPAP
      • FMEA development
      • Control Plans
      • Ability to participate/qualify machine runoff at supplier
      • Active participation line trials/PPAP (act as customer)
      • APQP participation to deadline
      • Gage R&R, Capability Analysis and Dimensional Verifications
      • Warranty Submissions
    • MSA – Measurement System Analysis (i.e. SPC)
      • Design and create Repeatable and Reproducing gage systems
      • Improve on Current MSA systems
      • Train associates in proper gage handling and usage
      • Perform variable and attribute Gage R&R
  • o New Project Launch Leader (APQP)

      • Attends daily production Operation Kiosk meeting

      • Provides a Lean or Six Sigma project each quarter to address Quality, Safety,

Delivery or Cost.

Success of the position is measured by:

  • o Reduction of Customer Complaints

  • o New part number launch (each project deliverables)

    • o Cost Reduction Performance to “C” plan –annual dollars
      • o Sorting Charges

    • o On time response and closure of CAR’s (TS/ISO/Quality/Safety)
    • o Conformance to company procedures

Duties may also include other related quality engineering activities as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.

To perform this job successfully, the employee must have the following:

  • o Bachelors degree or equivalent and/or the ability to pass the standard company employment selection test
  • o Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification
  • o The ability to effectively communicate information between company and the Customer
  • o Has a fundamental understanding of automotive quality systems, methods, tools and problem solving techniques.
  • o The ability to develop professional relationships with external customers to achieve optimal business relations.
  • o The ability to follow complex directions and create a plan to meet assigned goals.
  • o Proficient computer skills in all applications.
  • o The ability to have a passport and be able to travel
