Allen & York are pleased to present a great opportunity for a Site Construction Manager to join one of the UK's leading Waste Management and Environmental companies. Presently they are in the process of building a £2m Waste Transfer Station at one of their sites in Yorkshire. The ground has been cleared and construction is due to start ASAP. For this reason, a Site Construction Manager is required immediately to manage the construction and delivery of the project. This involves managing the Contractor and ensuring that the facility is built on spec and according to contract. Reporting to the Group Project Manager, the role generally involves:
- Assist in daily planning of works.
- Assist in short term programme and execute on site in terms of plant and labour.
- Supervise labour and monitor quality and progress of the works.
- Liaise with Engineer on requirements for materials, being aware of specification, materials and method of construction.
- Exercise basic commercial awareness to ensure economic working / calculated reimbursement, identify and record instructions / variations.
- Health & Safety aware, ensuring all works on site are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures, undertaking safety inspections, participating in preparation of method statements and ensuring compliance.

Previous Site Management experience of similar sized, waste industry, infrastructure, utility, manufacturing or industrial sector projects is required, with CDM and Health & Safety qualifications an advantage.
This position is an IMMEDIATE START, which will be a contract at first but can soon turn into a perm role depending on the performance of the candidate. This is not the only project this company has going to site as they have a pipeline of projects to build, which is why the opportunity to go perm is very real.
