Pilot Plant and Process Engineering Manager (closed)
Role Purpose/Accountabilities:
*The purpose of the Pilot Plant and Process Engineering Manager role is to lead formulation scale-up work, and collaborate with colleagues across Production & Supply to achieve successful and safe formulations, optimized for manufacturability and distribution through the application of process engineering principles.
*New formulation process development and scale-up
*Collaborate with formulation chemists to provide manufacturing input during product development
*Take an active part in manufacturing plant introductions of newly developed products
*Provide process engineering support for existing products both at the plant and in the distribution network, to address any quality or efficiency issues.
*Strive for innovative solutions to improve plant productivity and cost efficiency to gain competitive advantage
*Take leading role in development of pilot plant operations and technology development, including the project management in accordance with departmental priorities as well as assist in training and supervision of technicians, co-op students and third-party employees.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Critical knowledge: *Background and skills must include BS, MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering
*Knowledge in scale-up and mixing processes a plus
Critical Experience:
*5-10 years of process engineering experience in a chemical production facility or process scale-up experience
Critical Technical Proffesional & Personal capabilities:
*Thorough understanding of engineering fundamentals
*Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
*Ability to work effectively with multi-functional and multi-level teams
*Good problem solving, decision making and planning skills are a must.
*Motivated, independent, self starter who enjoys diverse fast paced environment
*Must be interested in technology development and working in a pilot plant environment
