NATURE & SCOPE: The Design Engineer is responsible for developing design layouts and generating drawings of custom industrial silencers as needed for customer approval and manufacturing. This will include P&ID, general assembly, pressure vessel, heat exchanger, and piping drawings. Will also generate machine/fabrication drawings related to product improvements, standardization or changes required to facilitate manufacturing. Takes on the role as Project Engineer and Design Lead for certain projects and provides overall direction and guidance to Designers and Drafters. General engineering duties such as entering BOMs into MRP system, communicating with customer on specific needs and collaborating with design team, checking drawings for completeness and accuracy.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: BSME Degree required. 5+ year of related professional experience. Highly proficient 3-D solid modeling experience (Pro_E preferred, but Solidworks, UG, Inventor acceptable). Experience in design of rotating equipment, piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, etc. Knowledge of machine, vessel, and piping industry standards including ASME, ANSI, ASTM, and AWS. Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, for successful interaction/collaboration across multiple departments, with a broad range of personnel, as well as with customers as needed. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, organizational, and leadership skills. Meticulous and detail-oriented. Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple responsibilities, projects, duties, and deadlines simultaneously.
