Position Overview
This position will overlook activities for Interiors stress analysis team. The person will report to Engineering Manager and align with different Interiors sites to support stress analysis activities. Lead the team performing detailed stress analysis of structural components of flight hardware as well as providing guidance to less experienced engineering personnel.
Responsibilities
Supervise stress function within Interiors business
Guides the team to address complex technical problems that may be encountered in the course of product development.
Support application of intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas and assignments.
Responsible for compliance to all relevant company standards, processes, procedures including GRMS and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for schedule and cost for the portion of the project assigned. Responsible for engineering metrics like OTD, FPY, etc.
Responsible for methods and procedures to ensure product designs are in conformance with all relevant standards
Develops competency development roadmap in line with the business roadmap and develops appropriate training plans.
Identifies CI opportunities and leads CI events.
Leads the project reviews and design reviews with SBU/VS/End Customer
Analyze components for the purpose of ensuring structural integrity using classical methods of analysis for strength of materials. Develops enhanced capabilities in the area of finite element analysis, particularly “ANSYS”, for the performance of structural analysis.
Generation of applied loads, interface loads and internal loads distributions, utilizing proper understanding and recognition of structural load paths and structural response to load.
Conducts first level/second level technical interviews.
Interacts with SBU/VS Engineering teams for project forecasting, resource planning, periodic customer feedback
Provide support for structural test programs and establishing work package estimates
Education & Experience requirements
BS / MS degree in engineering or other technical field and at least 12-15 years of related experience
Leadership and people handling skill
Experience in Analysis tools such as ANSYS, etc.
Strong computer skills.
Good analytical skills.
Communication
Effective written and verbal communication is required, for the purpose of achieving successful job performance, with the engineers both locally and in the USA, and other project team members.
