Job Description
You will be a practical, hands on and innovative engineer with a genuine interest in machines and how they work. As a Senior Engineer you hold full responsibility for the full life cycle of your products and manage its day-to-day operations, objectives and budgets. Working in a small, multi-disciplinary team, emphasis will be on providing reliable, cost effective solutions to our clients customers.
Typical Work Activities Include:
- Preparing and monitoring project schedules
- Monitoring, reviewing and coordinating project design and construction
- Designing systems and products
- Negotiating contracts, amendments and change orders
- Reading design specifications and technical drawings
- Researching suitable solutions and estimating costs and timescales
- Developing test rigs, models and prototype equipment
- Working to BS and EN standards, Machinery Directive and CE regulations
- Liaising with others in the design team, clients and contractors
- Attending meetings onsite
- Testing and qualifying the final product or system
- Preparing product documentation, writing reports and giving demonstrations/presentations
- Monitoring a product in use to improve on future design
- Procuring parts and managing budgets
Requirements:
- Educated to Degree level with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Knowledge of 3D CAD (preferably Solidworks)
- Experience with automation, product handling, or special purpose machinery
- Knowledge of electrical control systems
- Capability in PLC programming would be advantageous
- The willingness to travel nationally and internationally
- Full UK driving licence
