Job Description

You will be a practical, hands on and innovative engineer with a genuine interest in machines and how they work. As a Senior Engineer you hold full responsibility for the full life cycle of your products and manage its day-to-day operations, objectives and budgets. Working in a small, multi-disciplinary team, emphasis will be on providing reliable, cost effective solutions to our clients customers.

Typical Work Activities Include:

  • Preparing and monitoring project schedules
  • Monitoring, reviewing and coordinating project design and construction
  • Designing systems and products
  • Negotiating contracts, amendments and change orders
  • Reading design specifications and technical drawings
  • Researching suitable solutions and estimating costs and timescales
  • Developing test rigs, models and prototype equipment
  • Working to BS and EN standards, Machinery Directive and CE regulations
  • Liaising with others in the design team, clients and contractors
  • Attending meetings onsite
  • Testing and qualifying the final product or system
  • Preparing product documentation, writing reports and giving demonstrations/presentations
  • Monitoring a product in use to improve on future design
  • Procuring parts and managing budgets

Requirements:

  • Educated to Degree level with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD (preferably Solidworks)
  • Experience with automation, product handling, or special purpose machinery
  • Knowledge of electrical control systems
  • Capability in PLC programming would be advantageous
  • The willingness to travel nationally and internationally
  • Full UK driving licence
