Job Description

Our Direct Client is looking for a Performance Engineer for San Francisco, CA. This is fulltime position and the salary range is $85 - $100k with a 50% bonus. Local candidates are highly preferred, but our client will also entertain nonlocal candidates.

 

The Senior Performance Engineer will  work in the company’s Engineering department, and be responsible for:
Technical oversight and management of monitoring and control (SCADA) systems for solar generating facilities constructed by the company

Providing evaluation of facility and equipment performance based on site operating data

The successful candidate will have experience related to monitoring and controls systems and strong analytical, communication and project management skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Manage design requirements and specifications for PV monitoring equipment and SCADA systems for projects.

Identify and coordinate implementation of requirements for SCADA systems from in-house users including Operations & Maintenance, Billing and Asset Management.

Evaluate site and equipment performance at facility commissioning stage to ensure that all components are working up to expectations and to validate facility generating capacities. 

Assist in troubleshooting performance related issues at operating facilities.

Utilize evaluation tools including in-house applications, Excel and JMP.

Manage applications that monitor solar installations and prospecting weather stations.

Assist in drafting processes and procedures on all monitoring related projects.

Assist in allocating internal and external resources on all projects.

Other duties as assigned.

 

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong project management skills
Preferred knowledge of TCP/IP, FTP, DNP & Modbus
Basics Statistics & Excel
Preferred knowledge of PV, Frame relay, MPLS &VPN
Excellent record keeping skills
Bright, enthusiastic individual interested in learning about and working in dynamic renewable energy industry
Highly driven, ethical, and rational individual
Detail-oriented with excellent project management skills and ability to motivate people
Ability to prioritize tasks and juggle competing deadlines effectively, remaining calm under pressure
Acute attention to detail and passion for accuracy
Ability to maintain absolute discretion and exercise sound judgment
4 year degree in an Engineering discipline required
2-3 years of broad based engineering and/or network management experience
Successful track record in managing technical projects from inception to delivery
Prior solar experience a plus
