TrainingFolks is looking for a Training Specialist with experience with Management and Leadership related content.  The candidate must be local to Houston, TX.

Job Description

 

This individual will work as part of a team to deliver in-house training (non-technical, especially management skills training), develop performance-based learning materials, and develop/determine methods for assessing and evaluating learning transfer.

 

The ideal Training Specialist would be be required to:
  • Conduct instructor-lead non-technical training, such as management / leadership development courses, and other relevant topics to employees at all levels.
  • Work with operational departments to develop and validate best possible results from all training deliverables.
  • Facilitate synchronous web-based training sessions for a global employee audience.
  • Develop teaching aids, such as job aids, quick reference guides, demonstration models, games, tutorials, reference materials, simulations, and other learning activities as required to assist in the learning process.
  • Schedule, coordinate, monitor, and track class offerings. Prepare training materials, order supplies, and manage classroom logistics in multiple locations.
  • Participate in follow-up activities to assess the effectiveness of learning programs.
  • Identify and evaluate educational opportunities that align with organizational training requirements.
  • Research and adopt best practices in the learning and development field.
  • Pull post-training reports reflecting classroom statistics and evaluation results.
  • Participate in follow-up activities to assess the effectiveness of learning programs and incorporate changes as required.
  • Provide developmental feedback to the instructional design team to help improve training outcomes.
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.

The ideal Training Specialist should possess:

  • Extensive domestic travel required (50% or greater).
  • Five+ years’ experience in instructor-led training facilitation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, Instructional Systems Design/Technology, Adult Learning, Learning Technologies, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong instructional presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and skill working with synchronous web-based training applications such as WebEx, GoToWebinar, Adobe Connect, etc. preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a team-oriented focus.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment; flexible; detail and deadline-oriented.
  • Excellent written, editorial, and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and execute quickly.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technology and tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams and individuals.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects independently.
  • Manage travel and expenses budget effectively and within defined company limits.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas industry is an asset.

Location:

 

  • Based in Houston, TX
  • 50% Travel (Domestic)
  • Approximately 1 year (ASAP start) 
  • 40 hours per week
