| Essential Responsibilities |

Work on development of proposals including writing and/or reviewing technical specifications, estimating design man-hours and materials, supporting sourcing for vendor quotations, directing designers and draftsmen on drawing requirements, and the development of clarifications and exceptions as well as technical responses
Act as single point of contact for technical issues for the customer and proposal manager
Write high voltage equipment specifications and contractor work scopes, request vendor quotations, evaluate quotations, material purchase request forms, and vendor quotation evaluation for substation equipment including high voltage circuit breakers, switchgear, disconnects, high voltage power transformers, high voltage cable, and protection and control systems
Interface with internal and external team members such as Principal engineers, Protection and Control Engineers, Electrical Designers, Physical Designers, Draftsmen, Project managers, and support organizations
Lead and coordinate all technical aspects of AC power substation projects
Be responsible for the single line drawings and schematics, plan and elevation drawings, general substation arrangement and layout, relay protection and control requirements, and layouts for high voltage bus, cable, high voltage equipment, conduit, cable, and wiring, grounding, and control buildings
Direct efforts of engineers and designers, coordinate with sourcing and the project team on technical matters to meet project specifications, cost control and schedule objectives
Define processes, procedures, perform RCA’s (Root Cause Analysis), perform corrective actions, and validate process control
Support quality initiatives including aspects of ISO9002 | |

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineering registration
Experience / working knowledge of applicable design calculations such as battery sizing and DC system component selection, power transformer and circuit breaker selection, circuit protection, control and power cable selection and rating, bus, fittings, insulator, ground grid design, and lightning protection
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Transmission and Distribution substation engineering for utilities and renewable energy power plants and projects experience as an Electrical Project Engineer in substation type applications, including substation automation, SCADA, and control and relay protection
Knowledge of and experience using IEEE and ANSI standards and codes such as the NEC and NESC and ability to engineer design packages when no clear customer specification is provided
Field-testing and commissioning experience with safe work habits
Demonstrated electrical and mechanical troubleshooting capability
Previous experience installing and operating power equipment a plus
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Must be creative, able to lead a team and be accountable for team results in order to deliver a high quality product on time and under budget
Ability to develop and implement standards and structured programs
Good presence in front of the customer with demonstrated commercial experience such as Project Management
Excellent personal computer skills, including programming and design automation, and familiarity with AutoCAD / Microstation strongly desired
