Mechanical Design Engineer (closed)
JOB SUMMARY: Perform mechanical engineering, 3-D modeling design and packaging for turbo expander and cryogenic pump projects, and product development in a hands-on engineering, manufacturing and test environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design components and systems within the turbo expander and pump product lines including:
o Skid assembly for mounting turbo expander/pump and auxiliary systems
o Skid structural design
o Piping design, routing, and support
o Lube oil systems
o Control system electrical panels
o Instrumentation
Size and select system components.
Prepare P&ID, General Arrangement and Installation drawings for Customer submittal.
Prepare manufacturing assembly drawings for Production.
Prepare electrical wiring schematics, including control ladder-logic diagram.
Review customer specifications and incorporate into existing or new systems.
Model in Solidworks Turbo and Pump components and create assemblies.
Work closely with Design Team, Project Engineers, and Product Line Managers.
EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree, Mechanical Engineering.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum five years experience in a systems manufacturing environment. Rotating machinery experience desirable.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the application of principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment for the design and production of product.
Knowledge of raw materials, manufacturing processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective design and manufacture of turbo expanders and pumps, or related products.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
Knowledge of piping design and layout, project environments, and customer support.
