 Kiva is seeking a talented and motivated senior electrical engineer to work on system design, implementation and release to manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system design, analog and digital circuit design, motor control development, possess good communication skills, and enjoy problem solving.  This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in team settings.  Further, this candidate should be familiar with the associated hours, deadlines and high-energy culture that go with launching innovative new products. This position reports directly to the Manager of Hardware Engineering (Mobile Robotics Group).

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for:

-        Working with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including design, prototyping, validation, testing and certification

-        Thorough understanding of technical principles and concepts in electrical engineering

-        Writing and developing functional specifications, design verification plans and test procedures

-        Architecting, designing and implementing complex embedded system, analog and digital circuit design and systems debugging

-        Supporting product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments

-        Leading a technical team on multiple projects in parallel

The candidate must have the following qualifications:

-        BS / MS Electrical Engineering (or similar field)

-        10 + years of experience in electrical, firmware and system level design

-        Expert in schematic entry, layout tools and design for manufacturability (familiarity with PADS is a plus)

-        Experience with FPGAs, VHDL, microcontrollers, microprocessors and mixed-signal designs

-        Demonstrated strong ability to move seamlessly between levels of abstraction – from system to the “nuts and bolts” implementation

-        Extensive system design interfacing to a wide array of electro-mechanical subsystems and debugging experience including assembly and C

-        Commitment to rigorous testing practices

-        Experience with the project management of technical projects a plus

-        Excellent written and oral communication skills

-        Strong organizational and planning skills

-        Customer focused

-        Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
