Description
We are looking for a J2EE Software Engineer/Developer on behalf of our client, Fidelity Investments.This position is based in Smithfield, RI.
Software Engineer /Developer
FIIS' Web Technologies group is responsible for the development and maintenance of Remote Applications including our web presence, Advisor.fidelity.com, Advisor Central and DST Vision (both consortiums of mutual fund companies), the Voice Response Unit (VRU), Pricing and Performance Center as well as intranet applications. Additionally, the group is responsible for mission-critical middleware applications which consist of the J2EE Web Services, batch processing of internal work items and external transmission support.


Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in development, planning, and design to deliver Business Services within FIIS' Service Oriented Architecture, implementing critical business functionality within a IBM WebSphere environment.
Work with senior developers to complete major systems initiatives in all aspects of project delivery, including reviewing functional specifications, and external interfaces.
Develop business services with both traditional Waterfall and Agile development methodologies and principles. As such, you must possess strong inter-personal skills and be comfortable following the best practices of these processes.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
2-5 years of software development experience, including implementation of enterprise solutions in a J2EE environment. Broad technical experience within several areas: Java, J2EE, IBM WebSphere, Linux.
2+ years relational database SQL programming, preferably with Oracle.
B.S. in a computer-related field is preferred
Skills and Knowledge
Possess OOP/D skills in implementing Java-based web solutions for J2EE business applications. Experience with AOP is a plus.
Demonstrated experience with J2EE/Java technologies, exposure to Spring, Hibernate, and JAX-RPC is desirable.
Solid understanding of the enterprise software development process including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning.
Experience with development design patterns with demonstrated ability to execute on and follow design decisions at an enterprise level.
Good judgment, problem analysis techniques, and issues management to provide support in a production environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to contribute to design and functional documentation. Strong organization and coordination skills.
